Any ideas of how much longer we're gonna have to wait for VZW to release a new OS update?

why wait? .517 is an official release for the 9550 and is available now. i kept .320 until .517 came out and i am very impressed with the revisions. plus, most VZ techs don't even know how to check which OS you are running... much less which version is supposedly "official" for every phone they offer. worse comes to worst, you can always roll back to .320 for warranty claims and such. my guess is that by the time VZ releases something official in the .5XX range the leaks will be in the .7XX range so they will already be behind again.

let's see, the last official OS update for the tour 9630 from VZW was 4.7.1.61 on november 19th '09. they are just now releasing a new official for it at 5.0.0.591. doesn't look good for the S2's getting an update from VZ any time soon.

Exactly. They are just now putting out 5.0 for the Tour. They haven't released 5.0 for the 8330 yet (doubting they ever will). VZW just doesn't like to release OS upgrades unless they are absolutely necessary.
I think they are only releasing it for the Tour because they can get people to subscribe to PTT for another $5 / month.

Having another OS (leaked) on your phone does not void warranty. - But if you have to call tech support, they will tell you to downgrade to their official release before trouble shooting your problem. If you are on a IT policy, then you have to convince your administrator to upgrade.
