When I update my OS or wipe my phone, the only way I know how to have my google contacts sync from the BIS is to delete the gmail account in the BIS and add it back to reactivate it. Any simplier way?

Yeah I would suspect that sending your books should do the trick. You could also try the google sync app.

BIS Google contacts sync messed up my contacts (deleted birthdays etc...). I'll stick to Google sync (the app).
