Finally called AT&T today and upgraded my curve to a 9700. I hope this was a good decision and not a mistake . Curve started to get bad reception in places where it was working fine and all the other cell phones in the house still get great reception
You will love your 9700 and wonder how you lasted with your Curve so long. Great phone, I made a similar jump and now when I pick up my Curve it feels REALLY old.

Ha! For sure. The 9700 is 10 times the phone that old 8310 is... It's not even a close comparison. Will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. ))
I still have my old 8300 and I've played around with it a few times since having the 9700. Really, after using the 9700 I can't believe how frustrating it is to use a trackball and how much slower it is.

Totally agree!! I still have a curve for my work phone and now that I have the 9700 I do everything I can to avoid using the 8300.

Rob-congrats on your upgrade. The 9700 is truly the best of the best, youve made a wise decision. Post back and let all of us 9700 junkies know how you like it.
I keep the 8300 as a backup and I HATE it. But guess what? The darn sturdiest phone I've ever had

true. the 83xx series at one time were the backbone of the RIM lineup. rock solid good devices. I had a candy apple red AT&T 8310, which I still consider the best looking device RIM has ever made
