This is probably a question that can be easily answered. Since now the 8520/30 has an official 5.0, is the 8900 going to get it? I ask because of the whole "not selling 8900's anymore". TIA

5.0 for the 8900 has been released by some carriers across the world http://forums.crackberry.com/f100/of...hellas-431334/ But I'm sure your referring to Tmo releasing it and I'm sure they will eventually once they find a build that they are happy with. Remember, the 8900 5.0 hasnt been bug free yet.

Tmo needs to speed it up because I really wanna upgrade my O.S. I've been waiting silently as the 8900 has begun to become a dying breed.

I posted a link right above for a 5.0 download for the 8900. If you wait for Tmo to release, you may be waiting for a long time

Just a couple things to mention I think worth noting here. There is no guarantee that TMO will officially release an OS 5.0 version for the 8900. They could decide that since they do not sell the phone, they will not waste resources supporting an updated OS. Hopefully this is not the case!

Also, just because there has not been a "bug free" version of OS 5, doesn't mean that TMO will wait until there is a "bug free" OS 5 to officially release.

    My take on it....

Enjoy the leaks! Experience the updates firsthand and post what you think about them. Do not worry about destroying your phone just because it is not official. If a leaked OS came out and it was bricking phones, you would hear about it.

Go ahead! Dive in! The water's fine!
