I'm using OS .536 on the Rogers network and restart time (from shutdown to home screen) is less than 3:00 minutes.

    Anyone else faster or slower?

I took a stopwatch to mine when someone suspected their 9700 was rebooting too slow but mine was 1:53 running .442.

Mine is about the same. It's a little computer so it starts about the same speed
    as my windows.

    Do you have either :
Options > Security Options > Advanced Security Options > Memory Cleaning > ENABLED
    or
Options > Security Options > Encryption > ENABLED?

Does anyone have tips for speeding up the restart time?

Thanks PDM and reygiabla for that. Have any other info?

Which programs speed up or slow down a restart?

I would never use the words "fast" and "restart" in the same sentence while talking about my Blackberry, unless it was: "If this d*** phone doesn't restart soon, I'm going to beat myself to death with it- fast."

2-3 minutes!! that's what bothered me so much about my 9700... the LOOOOONG bootup time... and the fact that after every install and uninstall, it needed to reboot... at least on the Nexus... the bootup is about 40secs... which I still think is a bit long... but when apps install or uninstall, no bootup needed... in fact, it will go weeks upon weeks without rebooting

hopefully OS 6 and the slider fix this major BB issue....

they need to ditch java... that's the big problem... but also probably why it's so secure... so they are stuck between a rock and hard place...

Mines about 145 to 2 minutes. If you have a lot of apps this will run your time up.
