    when i connect my pearl 8130 via usb to my pc...it will not recognize the device...not on desktop manager or on the pc...it will charge the device though.
    i also have an 8330 and it does recognize that device on desktop manager and through the pc.

    any help?

    Check to see if any of the pins in the usb port are broken. Could be a bad port.

    im having this issue with my 8530 also (first time attempting to connect via usb), i thought i would have to replace the device, is this my only option?

    There are 5 pins in there, it only needs two to charge, its very possible one could be bent.

    Why dont you try bluetooth?
