if you're returning the phone back to verizon or whoever, I'd just do a security wipe but that's just me. I really don't think it matters

Yeah just do a security wipe by going to options/ security setting/ security wipe and you can delete most of your information, if not all. And since you are sending it back to VZW you do not have to worry because they will delete anything left behind and do a fresh install of your OS so nothing will be left behind and they will sell the phone as a refurb

You are going to have to use desktop manager to either wipe your OS or delete everything
