Just bought a new blackberry bold 9700... used it once but wanted to wait until I got my full white housing before I started using it as my everyday phone.
I put the housing on and afterward had a CONSIDERABLE amount of trouble turning it back on... only RED LIGHT OF DEATH.
It booted up after a while but SHUT DOWN once I started entering numbers into my phone.
I left it at home when I went out to let it charge.
I came home, used it with no problem, UNTIL I started to put numbers in again.
I doubt putting a new housing has anything to do with it. It might be best to reinstall the stock or an upgraded os. After that if it still happens, it is more likely an hardware issue and return/exchange the phone.
