Right now I have an unlocked blackberry bold 9700 (t-mobile) Its working fine except i can only get EDGE to work. I read that this is because the 3g will only work on t-mobile and wind network. What kinds of unlocked blackberry bold 9700's will have a working 3g network on the fido network? Thanks

Yup, the 9700 runs on their new 3G network, which is compatible with Rogers/Fido

Based on my experience, It depends on the APN of the mobile phone. Check the APN of the BB with your telco before purchase. Different telco support different APN.
F.Y.I my telco (Maxis in Malaysia) does not support T-mobile BB with epc.tmobile.com as their APN.

I don't think it'll work I made a thread about an unlocked 9700 and I got replies that said the t-mobile and wind mobile 9700's operate on different bands in comparison with bell,telus,att,rogers,fido

I'm probably wrong, but I was under the impression you'd only get EDGE with Fido.
