Sorry yes I know the core is the same, I just assumed this might have some app fixes or something being it is an official release

OSs are IDENTICAL no matter if leaked or official. Short of a customized vendor.xml file, the overall OS/Apps are identical. Only real difference here is the Relase number... way higher then the 674 from MTS, but if the PL and App versions are the same, there should be no difference at all.

Well look at the bright side. This one is from bell and not mts. That's something at least. Maybe the thread should be renamed to "Official 5.0.0.419 Bell" or something like that. Still would grab people's attention. Especially bell users.

Actually, this release is now available through Bell and SaskTel I believe. Release version .674 is strangely also still up on the Bell site under another entry for the Storm. They did something weird there.

Yeah, I saw that... too lazy to download and compare, but if the PL and App versions don't change it doesn't change much. I still don't understand why some carriers have two dropdowns like that for some models... it's the same phone.

Left me scratching my head too when I saw it a while back. It's got to be confusing for new users... which one to go from. The only thing I can think with this new version is that it might contain a different set of language files. But then again, maybe not. I'm only seeing english, spanish, french, portuguese and brazilian portuguese language files in this one. There are also some files named net_rim_tid_chinese..., but I don't know if these would be enough to add chinese to the entire OS. But then again, maybe all these files are in both versions and their really is no difference.

In this case since Bell is not yet officially carrying the 9550 and the new release 808 is under a new dropdown(I'm assuming this is the new one) that specifies 9530, could this be a hint that they will be carrying the 9550 soon? Why they wouldn't just rename the original I don't know.

Or at least someone would gave changed the title by now. It is just cruel leaving this up like this.

Any further word on VZW's progress testing? (maybe we can at least out some worthwhile info in this thread!)

EDIT: Ok maybe in my early days I might have smacked him around a bit with the mod stick.
