@BBMCHAT posted that the VZW stores that recieved 9650 stock were shipped back wednesday for "an immediate update". I will not be buying a 9650, I am just sharing the the info. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing

That could also be a positive sign that 5.0 for the 9630 is about to drop.

Why wouldn't they just put out a patch or an update? I can't imagine how time consuming it would be to reflash all those units.

Well, it would be even more time consuming to deal with a large mumber of peeved customers. Perhaps they found something wrong and wanted to get it right, first.

He said vzw has not submitted an approved 5.0 os as of 9pm last night and called it another "big fail"

I assume you got that from this bit of info that cant be confirmed or denied from mobility site.

"Lots of rumors going around about the BlackBerry 9650 launch. I got an email from my buddy who works inside RIM with this info:

Some Verizon stores did get the 9650. They were sent back for updates. Verizon wont release the 9650 until the official OS 5.0 arrives for the Tour 9630. The Sprint 9650s are having WiFi issues and Sprint is working that out. And at the end of the email he states: it wont be called the Tour 2. Its the Bold 9650.

So definitely delays regarding the BlackBerry 9650 launch. Stay tuned for more info!"

Maybe it will be called the Bold. Think about all the pissed off original Tour owners will be when they see their phone being upgraded only after 8 months? So maybe RIM is covering their *** by naming the phone something different.

If the 9650 is being sent back for an immediate update, then the phone should definitely be released in March.

...might as well just add touch screen while they are at it...this wait has been deadly, and unnecessary...the Iphone is going to be released on VER and SPR before we can even get the 9650...

I like thoughts of a phone fixing my coffee in the morning, if the iphone can start your car why can't the Blackberry 9650 turn my damn coffee pot on.
