FYI, it will fit the 9700, actually if I owned a 9700 I would buy this one as it is just a bit taller and covers more of the protruding top.

FWIW - I'm the buyer of this item & I bought it for my 9700. It fits PERFECTLY. One would never guess the pouch wasn't designed from this phone. There's hardly any play, even when turned upside down & wiggled. If anyone's interested in buying this pouch from Crackberry for their 9700 I'd go for it.
