- ok, this isnt a double post..aside from missing the BB Email folder, now when my screen comes out of sleep mode, it stays BLACK for about 5 to 10 seconds with the little black clock and then boots up..THIS will be an issue... has anyone else experienced that???
can i downgrade to 4. whatever again???...i only did this damned update for SMS Style text...but i rarely text too many people anyhow, wasnt that big of a deal for me...02-11-10 10:02 PMLike 0 - well u shoulda read feedback before u jus went ahead and upgraded cause people were def saying it was buggy02-11-10 10:10 PMLike 0
- I have had no problems at all with this build. A couple of button assignments have changed but they are not bugs. Changed for the better as far as I'm concerned. Radio is better and my battery life is improved. Took off charger at 2:30am and now almost 24 hours later with moderate phone use I am sitting at 88%, I would call that damn good.02-11-10 10:26 PMLike 0

TRUST ME I UNDERSTAND. i upgraded to the 5.0 official and my Y! email icon was gone, my phone kept saying i had an email when i didn't and this NEVER happened b4 and no matter what i did reboots, "mark prior read" nothing worked. plus 2 of my apps didn't work. i never used the lock and mute buttons on top on the tour but i did have BEIKS keyboard lock and autostandby and neither worked. so i downgraded back to my leaked .230 os with the v7.11 hybrid. this build has always worked for me with no issues. my phone is back to the way i want!!02-12-10 12:09 AMLike 0 - TRUST ME I UNDERSTAND. i upgraded to the 5.0 official and my Y! email icon was gone, my phone kept saying i had an email when i didn't and this NEVER happened b4 and no matter what i did reboots, "mark prior read" nothing worked. plus 2 of my apps didn't work. i never used the lock and mute buttons on top on the tour but i did have BEIKS keyboard lock and autostandby and neither worked. so i downgraded back to my leaked .230 os with the v7.11 hybrid. this build has always worked for me with no issues. my phone is back to the way i want!!

And it says you have an email because you got a registration message for the upgrade in your MESSAGES folder that I'm sure you have tucked away hidden. this build is a solid as far as I'm concerned. Some people just like to complain about anything. Oh and when your keylock software upgrades I'm sure it will work with 5.0.

no it wasn't a registration email thank you i know the difference. and complain about anything? last time i checked i wasnt replying to your thread or talking to you. just as quick as some complain others jump down others throat as if they were specifically asked for their opinion. and i'm gonna leave it at that...the last time i told someone where to go they went crying and whining to the mods..dont need a repeat of that since its clear that some like to dish it out but cant take itLast edited by MBM7881; 02-12-10 at 03:13 PM.
02-12-10 03:04 PMLike 0 - If the guy says he had problems out of 5.0 then maybe he did. Don't assume. I'm sure he knows about the "message" inbox that has registration messages. Or else he would have had a new alert this whole time. Just because you had that happen and couldn't figure out where your messages where and then eventually figured out it was that doesn't mean that's everyone elses problem02-12-10 08:34 PMLike 0
- I reverted back to .419 with the Dv5.1 hybrid.
Phone battery life is back to less than .6/hr with heavy use. No reg email, all apps work, and the browser is literally twice as fast. No kidding, it loads pages nearly twice as fast. There is almost no "requesting" lag like I had on the official 484.
Im not once to complain, but until a good hybrid is released that fixes these issues, I am sticking with .419 and Dv5.102-12-10 09:11 PMLike 0 - I reverted back to .419 with the Dv5.1 hybrid.

Most people refer to bbhybrids.net for their hybrids and reviews...
Hybrids use a combination of newer files and updated files that may not be available for your device but are generally compatible.
They also address annoying issues like the registration email and media player bug found in some other releases.
It basically is a a replacement of you "java" folder prior to loading the OS.
Check out the site mentioned above for more specifics, thats just a run down.
Alot of people argue hybrids are unstable. Those are generally the people who have not tried them, or have not followed directions and installed them wrong.
Anyone who has had a good strong hybrid build will tell you, it makes the stock OS look like a 1990 ford escort hatchback.02-12-10 09:32 PMLike 0 - This is my second hybrid (some driphter version) and it works fine as far as I can tell.
It is a mix and match of various COD files putting together a browser combination from one OS and the 3G symbol from another and the voice mail from a third or some similar mix and match. Some even use a different PHONE module which is different than the internal apps stuff.
Driphter, one hybrid creator, seems to have gone his own way and I'm not sure what caused the split.02-12-10 10:09 PMLike 0 - Did you try deleted the yahoo mail and reinstalling? Or did you delete it from your mail preferences and re-set it up? Maybe resend the service books?
As for the unlock black screen, I got that with the unofficial .419 release, the new official release works flawlessly with my device.
I'd try deleting and re-downloading the yahoo mail app (or go to your mail settings and re-do it in there if that's the way you have it set up) and then re-send the service books to see if that does away with the unread e-mail icon.

- I just went back to this myself last night... awesome build!! Not sure why there are people on here saying 5.0 removes their BB email folder,,, been there on every 5.0 I've tried,, must be no one knows how to restore a hidden icon??02-13-10 08:08 AMLike 0

- The 484 build stinks to high heaven. Even buggier than 419. I run the Dv5.1 hybrid and I'm going to stick w/ it. You can wait for a 484 hybrid but from the looks of it there's nothing 484 does better than 419 so why?
