A few days ago I turned on this feature so my Tour suggests words as I am typing. I figured I would test it for a few days and then make a decision as to whether its useful or not. Well, its been a few days and I hate it. The problem is that I can't for the life of me find where to turn it off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

open up your options application, go to "language and text input" > third option down is "text input options" and make sure "predictive text" is unchecked.
