When I dwn loaded the 5.0 ver I lost the ability to touch the link and dwn load the ringtone. Now I have to select the link, copy and paste it to the browser. When I do that it keeps timing out. Help.
Start off with a Battery Pull and see if that clears the fault. It would also help to know which version of 5.0 you loaded, for reference. Type myver and hit space when you respond.
I'm also bumping your thread so that someone who may know of this issue has a chance to see it.

First your title is misleading. You should consider rewriting it to describe the issue you truly are experiencing. Which I'm guessing is the VERY known issue regarding non-clickable links in messages with OS 5.0.0.328. If you searched something like "can't click on links" you would have found several threads for this unfortunate annoyance with .328 OS. No work around yet (at least none I've come across since the OS became official for VZW).
As for the timing out issue, can't help there. Perhaps a battery pull?
