I'M PROUD OWNER OF BOLD 9700 AND AFTER DEALING WITH NOKIA'S ALL MY LIFE, THIS IS LIGHTYEAR LEAP AHEAD.
BUT THERE IS A PROBLEM.
AFTER I'VE UPDATED MY SOFTWARE FROM ORIGINAL v5.0.0.321 WHICH WORKED LIKE A BABY, TO LATEST v5.0.0.423, MY BOLD IS BEHAVING BADLY, LIKE WE ALL WITNESSED IN LAST FEW DAYS.
NOW, MY AIM IS TO PUT IN ONE PLACE (THIS THREAD) OPINION OF ALL BB USERS THAT CARE, WHICH VERSION OF BOLD 9700 SOFTWARE SO FAR IS/WAS THE BEST AND WHY?
REASON? COS I WANT TO PUT THAT VERSION ON MY PHONE AND ENJOY IT AS BLACKBERRY SHOULD BE ENJOYED.

What exactly do you mean by behaving badly cause im using .423 and is rock solid for me.
at&t. using 5.0.0.296 (bold9700) because it works with my honda accord 09 hands free link. later sw versions (5.0.0.645) did not work beyond simple pairing (no contacts etc). so I guess this version will be on my phone for awhile. other then very occassional screen freezes and laggy tracking, i am pleased with the phone. i have seen in another thread more specific to these issues that later sw versions did not fix those problems anyway.
where do i start?
1)sms bug, all the smses come under first one that came and all appears to be from same person.
If i want to send sms regardless of to whom i address it it goes to the same person that first sms came from
2) the phone it's hanging and slow to response on any command
3) tones mixed up, went defult, or just went silent
4) people can't get me by calling or i don't receive smses from them
sim did you try a soft reset or battery pull??? not every bb is the same so some os upgrades work better then others... if the problem continues downgrade back to .321
