Unlimited talk and text is $89.99 and if you have a smart phone you will still have the $30 data plan and get this...if you were getting a corporate discount on your monthly bill you are No longer eligible to get it once you move to the new unlimited plan.

and its only for talk, not text. So I guess if you never send text messages then it would be good.

I'm on their site and cant figure out if I can pay the same price as now without loosing benefits. I pay 119 now minus a $24 corporate discount. This is for a BB on a BES server with 900 talk and unlimited text. Based on what I am seeing, I would pay more for the same. If I can't get the same pricing, here I come Sprint.

The 89.99 unlimited is talk and text you don't get a corporate discount on it because that is according to them a good price. I think it is because prior to that the single unlimited was 99.99 and texting was extra cost. So, they dropped the price and included texting. so what is so bad about this price ? If you want the unlimited talk ONLY it is 69.99 So you read it wrong. Unlimited and text included is indeed 89.99
Data has not changed still the same but if a regular cell wants mobile email then it is 9.99 a month for it

I called today. It worked out better for me to keep what I have. If you switch plans you can't go back to what you have now, as the plans are no longer availabe. Also, what I'm charged for my kids would change to $30 each vs $10 each. Even phones like env3 have to take a data plan now. So I'd be paying an extra $60 to save $30...sneaky jokers.

ok i just went and it appears they actually phased out the premade BB plans

now you pick a voice/txt plan and then add the BB plan on top. and it does reduce what you are paying it appears. Mine dropped about $15 or so it appears buy redoing the plan. So good luck all you might save some after all

    Very few need BES.
If you need BES your company should be paying.

I get my email at work from an Exchange Server with no issues.

losing corporate discount probably only applies if you get the the full unlimited talk and text (if it really is tru in the first place).

i switched to the 450 inc unlimited txt plan (as opposed to 450 + 500txt) and still have my discount and saved a couple bucks.

and as said before, the BB plans did not change.

I was on a 900 min BIS plan for $99 plus $5 for 250 messages. I get a 15% discount thru my employer. For about $10 more on my new plan, I now get unlimited voice minutes. FYI I did not get 15% off voice, but I did get 15% off my data.

Worked this for the plan my wife and I are on. Family plan (2 phones, 1 BB & one 3G) with 1400 minutes, 500 txt on one 250 on the other. Price will increase about $20 month if we went with just the voice plan, it would go up about $35 a month if we went the voice and text plan. Not worth it to me. I will stick with what I have.

and dross333, dont jump over to Sprint, it is so not worth it.

NOOO!! It was like that for years, but since last year (give or take) when they came out with the Nationwide Email (and Messaging) Plans, BES WAS included in the package price. I've been using this plan for the last year with my hosted Exchange acct, configured with the native BB Corp Email->Exchange setup using password (NOT OWA). ALL of my PIM data syncs OTA.

I haven't had a chance to call in to talk to VZW, but from everything I can determine on the VZW site as well as sites like this, I'll pay more (for the exact same benefits) if I switch to the new plans because of the needed BES.
    01-19-10 11:33 AM
  24. tech_head's Avatar
BES is only needed if the company uses it's own BB Server and forgoes RIM.
You don't need BES to talk to an exchange server. The exchange server must allow access from the outside other than OWA.

There are very few people that really need the $45 BES plan.
