I have 27.0 MB available for applications, and I occasionally get a screen that pops up trying to get me to uninstall an application.
What OS are you running? It shouldn't matter because you say you have 27 mb but are you closing apps when done? It could be a hardware issue, for some reason your storm isn't recognizing available mem. Beats me !

I have like 10 apps. I boot up at around 19 but at times i find myself at like 1mb or under 1mb! I always make it a habbit to close my apps. Except maybe viirgo. But how are people up to 30's mb i dont get it. Is it beacuse i dont delete my apps before upgrading them does that keep up more space?
You could get 80 apps (depending on what they are) on an S1, but you may not want to.
I currently have about 30 apps loaded. I had over 40, but deleted a few because I wasn't using them. Anyway, when I had all of them on there I was booting with about 22MB of RAM. With 30 I'm booting at about 26MB. I only leave out sample pics/vides, OS included games, help files, extra languages, and BB Maps when I load my OS's. I still have voice dial, VZNav, VVM, etc...

I'm running the most recent, official OS, and I am always sure to close apps when done. I'm sure it's some kind of issue, but I'm on my 5th storm and really don't want to have to go through the hassle of getting a refurb and customizing it to my satisfaction. It's not even really a hassle. It's just a screen I have to close whenever it pops up. Plus I get an upgrade in August, so I'll stick it out till then!
I have 59 apps and games not counting the perinstalled rim apps. I've shrunk the OS and boot up at 15mb. I can usually go for two days without a reset. Granted some of the apps are very small. No themes. They always kill my memory.

I agree themes kill memory and I seem to like the default anyway. That is a lot of apps though !
