k, so i'm too much of a chicken to upgrade to the unofficial .428 leak that's been out for a bit now, because i don't wanna lose anything on my phone or not have it work properly....my question is this: i have the professional grunge theme and use weather bug...does the icon update regularly on the home screen? and i do apologize if it's been addressed in another thread...

Yes it does. .428 fixed this issue and other issues as well. Don't be scared of the .428. It is your friend.

Leaks are good (most of the time) lol. Please don't stay at .320 as you'll be keeping yourself from some fixes that .428 offers and then if you really want a good os try out the .428/.436 hybrid it's better that straight .428 IMO

Will this update ever become "official" meaning that if there were problems Verizon would help out? Thanks in advance.

Links to the OS download and instructions for installation: http://crackberry.com/leaked-os-5-0-...y-9550-storm-2

You'll need BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your PC, and, as with any OS change, should perform a full backup using DM before proceeding with the upgrade. To the extent any of that isn't address in the thread I posted ^^, you can follow the steps from the Proper Upgrade/Downgrade link in my signature.

Hi. The chances of .428 becoming the next official Verizon release are slim, since .435, .436, and likely higher builds are in the hands of VZW's testers already. But anything's possible. To the extent you have problems there are plenty of folks on here who can help you out, and dozens of threads addressing problems and fixes.

It's the .428 base operating system for the 9550, with .436 Java files from another device's operating system mixed in. Hybrids have a good history of resolving issues inherent in the base OS (.428 here), provided that they're built by people who know what they're doing. Anything from OOAKDPC, Lyricadal, and irtehun will be very solid. You can search the forums to see what's available.

    Speed dial isn't actually buggy.
Once you figure out that you can't set your preferences for the full size keyboard in portrait mode, it works fine.

So I use one of the others and my speed dial is flawless.
    Build 428 is your friend.

The original OS is behind the 328 build for the Storm I.
428 gives all the features back then some.
I went from an upgraded Storm I and was disappointed because some of the features were lost in going from a Storm I to the Storm II.
    428 gives them back.

Would the update be worth it for me? It seems that everyone updated because their phones didn't click right or they had other bugs but I was one of the lucky few with a perfect functioning s2. I don't want to fukk my phone up for no reason!
