I've never heard of that before. I think you need to call Rogers and talk to someone there, cause it seems as though you've been scammed. Preferably customer retention.

Were you on a Blackberry plan before with your Pearl?
Rogers could have made you sign a data plan for 3 years without giving you a new phone.

How did Rogers make you resign your contract? They put a gun to your head and screamed, "SIGN IT OR DIE!!!" ??? Very confusing indeed...

I work for rogers and I have heard of this.
Rogers is actually not obliged to provide you with a new phone upon a hardware upgrade. I was very puzzled when I heard this, thinking it was outrageous!

Sometimes even a simple plan change requires a renewal of 3 years. but that's a completely different story.

Wait...you paid $680 and it says so on the receipt. Hard to believe.

Tell them you bought it outright and not on a contract then. Like call them?!

Why is that hard to believe..go to their website look how much a bold is to buy outright..Sure they say their $99.99 but under that it says $649.99 No Term + taxes Your lookin @ close to a $700 bill..I had a contract that I was already 1.5 years into when my 8800 died I was unable to do a upgrade (so they told me) so I had to buy it..Ontop of that the fkrs gave me another 3yr contract noone told me about @ the store....

Why would you resign a contract if you weren't getting a new phone?!? That sounds ridiculous on their part and a tad ridiculous on yours.

And to BlankBerry, good luck with Bell lol
