Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 9700:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

So far so good on my att 9700. I was getting excellent battery life on .405 so I will be keeping my eye on the battery meter today and tomorrow. Merry Christmas everyone!
Man, I been using it for a few hours, and this thing is fast....Like Lightning fast. Opening, closing, you name it it is flying. No issues so far here.
I'm still setting everything to my liking, but one thing I noticed was that the theme I like to use is all berzerk. It's a very basic Precision Zen theme that I just tweaked with some color and a weather slot and when I load it, all the folders are gone and some of the icons are a bit screwy.
Wow, this thing is fast, much faster than the .415 I had. Took 12 mins to download the file and another 8 to fully update the phone. So far no problems. Following apps work:
Berry Weather (much faster than before)
Viigo (also noticeably faster)
Browser about the same, seems slower
SmrtGuard
Bolt (also faster)
Google Maps
Blurt
Blootooth works fine
3G good and stronger than before
Will report on battery tomorrow.
My Boot Time is down to 2:33 and i have more apps on my phone than ever before!!! very happy with it so far....but ive only had it installed for about 30min
