hey guys, im getting my blackberry bold 9700 for Christmas so im trying to clarify a few things. I watched a few unboxing videos to figure out what holster the 9700 comes with. Mine is going to be from tmobile so i found a video of a guy unboxing a tmobile 9700 and he pulled out the holster and i noticed it had a swivel clip on the back. So my question to you people who have the 9700 from tmobile is, is the swivel clip on the back of the holster removable? I have a curve right now and i love the holster because it fits perfectly in my pocket but im afraid that the 9700 holster's swivel clip will not be removable and i cant carry it around in my pocket. I have also heard many people claim that their phone came with a "pouch" holster which i would much prefer. Thanks in advance guys
RIM is also coming out with the leather version holster with the swivel clip. Have you tried ShopCB or Amazon or BB website for pouches? You are probably out of luck with OEM holsters with the removable clip as it doesn't exist.

You can probably use the same pouch you are using for your curve right now. The 2 phones are very similar in size, so I would imagine it would fit in there.

who ever uses a pouch or holster: dont you guys find it annoying to have to pull the phone out everytime you want to use it?
I find it highly annoying, thats why I got a case/skin; I know it protects less, but I also have a screenprotector, so ill take my chances
I am both in the field and office all day long and I can not imgine not used my holster with a swivel clip. I have to answer 60-70 calls a day and the holyter keeps the device handy and ready to use.
What do you do if you are not using the holster? Are you holding your phone in your hand all day? That would be a little limiting losing a hand to work with! I am not sitting at a desk all day and even when I do I never leave my phone on the desk, I find that if I do, I get up and leave the office with my phone layking on the desk! So, no, the holster is my answer.
These are personal preferences and each have got to do what the need to do but the holster had been good for my Blackberry for over 9 years!
I keep my phone in a epik case with a screen protector in the holster on my belt. It's just very convenient and works perfectly for what I need it for. Plus when I take the phone out of the holster it automatically goes to whatever program the recent alert was for, magnetic sleep function ftw.
It IS a personal preference. However, the holster, while some consider it uncool, protects the phone better and is more professional. In a skin or pouch and in pants too tight, there were recent threads about also running into objects and cracking the screen or falling out of the pocket dinging the bezel. IMO, if you want a berry small enough for your pocket, get a Pearl.
i just prefer a pocket pouch over a belt clip and yes i could get a skin but it seems that is a lot harder to get out of my pocket than a leather pouch
There is an OEM 9700 Standard pouch without the belt clip as they come in the box here in the UK.... they are also cut short for what ever wisdom RIM has for that... be it so they dont cover the led, or speaker.... or saving leather...
I have to agree with the holster approach. Its right there and for whatever reason I feel the vibration better on my hip then I do on my pocket.
Just got my phone but I've already put the order in for a sapphire blue innocase ii and holster. Combine that with a decent screen protector and your phone is in its own protective bubble. Also easily accessible. And for times when the holster isn't convenient, its still in a hard case with the screen protected.

I use to use the 8320 and had the leather pocket case/sleeve I think you're referring to. I can confirm that your new 9700 will fit as they are similar in size, like others have already stated.
