How do the BB servers work in relationship to the carrier severs? In others words, shouldn't the phones work through AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.?

all data go's through rims servers if they go down every blackberry go's down thats how it works

ok so right now the internets not working for everyone...i thought it was just me....switched into a family plan with same web plan and i thought it was maybe because of that

but since you guys seem to not be able to go online it must have hit everyone

for some reason pandora still works...

so does this happen often with blackberrys?...:/

Not just North America, I'm in South America (Brazil) and BIS is down here as well. And apparently this is actually the third time within a week.

Same. I was connected through WiFi so there was no BlackBerry symbol to disappear. That's normally how I'm clued in to when the servers are down.

Some things are working while others are not. BBM, browser, Facebook are not working. Dictionary.com app is working fine so there's some data working and other data not working.

Connecting through WiFi should not allow you to bypass this problem... am I wrong folks?

Correct. And in my case at least it does not. The problem is not with your coverage/carrier, but with the RIM servers. Data sent/received via WiFi has to go through these same servers and they're down.

delete your browser service books, and reconnect to wifi..works perfectly...or just use opera mini and you can use browser
