Theme installed but not showing in apps... how to delete?
- I installed a theme from elecite called 'Shell' which I decided I didn't like, so I wanted to delete it.
I went into 'applications' hoping to just select 'delete' like I do with every other app or theme, but it's not listed there! It IS listed in my themes though, and I can select the theme and use it! I've seen the opposite, where an incompatible theme is installed and shows in applications but not the theme menu. This is the other way around! It's shown under themes, but not the applications list! I have tried both desktop manager and on the device.
I am at a loss... how can I get rid of this theme??
Oh, I am using Tour 9630 and the stock OS 4.712-20-09 10:51 PMLike 0 - I had that happen to a friend, and she ended up having to wipe the device to get rid of it. I'm not saying that's what you will have to do, but she tried every option that she could think of and none of the others worked.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com12-21-09 07:27 AMLike 0 - have a question. I am a huge theme user meaning I probably own 20. when I remove theme and then reload it later it uses the same custom background and arrangements i removed it with. Does this suck my memory with all this saved information when theme is removed. If that is the case how do I remove that information if it is a memory hog. Or should I not even worry about it. I have a Storm 9530 and am getting low on memory.12-21-09 09:02 AMLike 0
- ok I found it....
The theme was NOT listed in applications.... trust me! And I know that many start with com_plazmic_theme it was just not listed in the applications list! BUT! I went looking further into Modules, and there was a module listed for it! So I deleted the module and then reset the device and it was finally gone!
Boltcharger, I think that probably theme arrangement settings (your icon setup , custom folder names etc) are probably stored all in one text file somewhere on the device. It's probably just like a log file or something in a text format since the graphics for the icons are all stored in the actual theme files. I don't think it would use very much memory at all if so.... maybe a kb per theme if that! I am kind of just guessing at this one, as I did notice that myself before.12-21-09 10:59 AMLike 0 - Thanks. I keep deleting 3rd party apps and just not hardly gaining any memory at all. hovering around 23 mb. I removed weather bug, and other bigger apps. I used to have 30+ mbs not sure where it is all going. I have downloaded many walllpapers. I am not sure where they are stored though. I didn't think they were stored in app memory.12-22-09 07:25 AMLike 0
