Google...blackberry 9700, software, at&t...you will see the link that takes you to the blackberry official download page for att. Scroll down on the drop down menu and look for 9700 bold. You will see the lastest OS, just download it follow standard upgrade procedures.
Went to BB/AT&T's official download site and it only carries the .405 SW. Not sure why .409 is showing up as on update on the OTA, but I'm done screwing around with updates - updates are never smooth when you're tied to BES.

Yes, 409 is available OTA when running 405. Just downloaded, no real changes, but perhaps it updates a radio stack or something. Being on AT&T- I'll use it.
Downloaded 405 first via OTA then checked again via OTA and 409 was there. I did it through OTA

Load 405, either with your computer , or OTA. Then check for an wireless update on the phone . That's how you get offered 409 with a stock AT&T 9700...

I loaded 405 with my computer this morning, and the wireless update says "no updates available* . It is a stock AT&T 9700.

This is kind of weird. When I make calls to contacts that are also in my Facebook Friends list, their profile pic is displayed with a little fb icon in the bottom corner of the pic. Spooky!!
