I am switching from an Env2 which has a very spacious keyboard (which I will be missing) to the Curve 8530 in about a week and I was testing it out tonight and my thumbs were like cramping after the second sentence.
Will I get used to the smaller keyboard? And how long did it take you to get used to yours?
I have a storm 2 which has a bigger keyboard than the 8530, but it took me about two days to get used to it at first. You will get used to it. good thing is that you will be set for the other BB's that come out because the keyboards are all similar in size

Going from a MotoRAZR to a first gen Pearl was interesting. Took about 3 or 4 hours to get used to. However, Pearl to Curve, seconds. Curve to Bold 9000, again, seconds.

I came from a Sidekick LX 09 as well, & it took me a couple of weeks to get everything down. With the LX I could type w/ the pads of my thumbs, & for my 9700 I have to use the tips. It's very comfortable for me now, even moreso than my Sidekick.

I went from a HTC 8925 (full landscape QWERTY) to SureType on a Pearl. Took me about a week before I could pound out quick messages. Then, I went from the Pearl to a Curve 8900. I'm still not 100% yet after 2 weeks as I have large thumbs and have been too used to SureType.
Crappy Audiovox with MultiTap and T9 to a Pearl with SureType took about a day. LOVE SURETYPE!
From the Pearl to the Storm1 was a breeze as it's still SureType in Portrait for me. Still haven't got the hang of the QWERTY. If they do a SureType in Landscape I'd be set.
