- Ok so it takes my 9700 over 6 minutes from inserting the battery to displaying the main screen.
The only 3rd party apps I have are Google Maps, Gmail, and Google Talk. Of those, only Google Talk starts up with the phone.
I thought the 9700 was supposed to be faster? My 9000 booted up in half the time with the exact same apps.12-14-09 10:10 PMLike 0 -

- Thats because there is no official OS update for AT&T nor will there be anytime soon. You can go here http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/bol...leaked-384020/ and upgrade to .421 which is a better OS than the stock .296 the shorter reboot time is one of the many improvements.12-14-09 10:20 PMLike 0
- It's on Blackberry's own site, under carrier downloads. I don't know if this link will work, but I just went to AT&T in the list...

- mine takes about 6-8 minutes too, such a pain in the ****, i loaded up .421 the other day and it booted up in 1:30 but it included BBM 5.0.0 so i downloaded the new one and then my boot time went to 6-8 minutes, so i deleted it and went down to 5.0.0.33 and the boot time is still in the 6-8 minute range, dont feel like doing a full wipe again right now so i will just have to live with it for now, would really like to figure out why it does this though.12-14-09 11:50 PMLike 0

Score Mobile
QuickLaunch
MeterBerry
BerryBuzz
Poynt
WLM
Facebook
eBay
CB launcher
but like i said i had all of those and more on my phone and it was booting up in 1:30 but then when i downloaded the updated BBM it went to 6-8 minutes, and didnt get any better after i deleted it12-15-09 12:05 AMLike 0 - just a quick update i just downloaded the newest offical released BBM 5.0.0.55 and my boot time is now 4:53, so about a minute less, so it looks like all my problems with my long boot time has to do with BBM in some way or another.
does anyone know a way to load the newest BBM 5.0.0.55 from your computer and not OTA? like where can i find the COD file?12-15-09 12:19 AMLike 0 - One of you (with the problems) should try deleting BBM altogether and see what happens.
Make sure to backup your contacts first.12-15-09 06:40 AMLike 0 - Long boot up times are due to the amount of apps you have on yoru device as the phone needs to load them up...mine takes about a couple of mins and i have around 10 apps i think..even the new BBM which i updated to hasnt caused me any long bootup times.
Just keep that in mind that the more apps you have on your device..the longer the device will take to boot up12-15-09 08:03 AMLike 0
