- I myself am very brand new to the Blackberry world, but in the short time I have become so addicted to my Bold9700 its probably the best thing to walk into my life. Haha
I'm trying to get my Girlfriend into this too, but I need some help. She wants a Curve but she can't decide on which one to get.
She's with Tmobile so our options are the 8900 or 8520. So I guess after all this ranting my question is WHICH ONE IS BETTER?????

- I am with T-mobile and have an 8900. I would say why not the 9700 unless it is not in your area. None the less I love my 8900 and would not trade it for another BB out there, though a Storm 2 would be fun to play with. Your girl will definitely like the compact size of the 8900 and it has never posed any large problems over the year I have had mine. My girl has a 9700 through Verizon and loves it, her friend an mom and dad went and got them too after seeing it. So go with the 9700 if available otherwise go to the 8900. Both are dependable units.12-12-09 02:36 PMLike 0
- I'd say go with the Curve or the 9700. Those trackpads are sweet! For a first Blackberry the 8520 is a great phone.
@smittyn804. The 9700 isn't offered by Verizon. Only Tmobile and Att here in the states. You couldn't even get a 9700 (either Tmobile or Att) to work on Verizon.12-12-09 02:56 PMLike 0 -
She wants something "cute" haha. My 9700 is too sleek i guess? But if anything we could just switch SIMs if she really wanted to use mine.12-12-09 03:01 PMLike 0 - Oh mah damn, your right I always confuse the 9700. With the Tour. Good call!

I don't think the 8900 is full of "bells and whistles" over the 8520, both devices have very similar functions, just some on the 8900 are enhanced a bit, I don't think the difference would be night and day, but the 8900 seems the more complete device of the two.

anyway. Might as well make it a 3G phone. The 9700 is sleek, and some would
argue a little to sleek.12-12-09 03:29 PMLike 0 - 8900 - better device, it does really depend on what your partner wants from a blackberry
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com12-12-09 03:30 PMLike 0 - Mainly social use. Me and her are both 18 (yeah i know young Blackberry users) I use mine Blackberry for personal use and for school. Im 99.9999% sure she is going to use a blackberry for purely texting, web surfing, IMing/BBM.12-12-09 03:32 PMLike 0

But thanks everyone for the help and starting her on her new addiction!
