Yeah, are these other 9530 carriers even testing 5.0?

Quite a dry spell for 9530....

It just bricked my 9530 and I still don't have popup keyboard or 3G icon. I'm going back to 4.7............

Application Centre still doesn't work, which is kinda dumb on an official OS release.

Everything else seems to work exactly the same so far, but it's tighter than .402. The little bugs like scrolling on text and it jumping from one text message to another for no reason have disappeared.

Looks like they've just managed to get rid of the kinks and given it an official release.

More discoveries as they are discovered...

Lucky 9500 users. Any differences in the media player? Camera? Is it faster at loading images and sliding through them?

Media player: works sweet. Can't find any probs. Does what it should.

Camera: Take pics quick. Colours still seem faded.

Pic scrolling: Slides through them fast. Too fast almost. Nice

    Everything is looking real good

Thanks for the quick response. Safe to say this is the best OS you've used yet? I guess it's kinda early to tell though because you should really give it a day till you give it a judgement call.

Any new features you've noticed? Any issues (Besides the application centre one)?

I can't see anything different from .402. BBM isn't running the latest update, it's running on 5.0.0.33

It just seems the same, but the bugs have gone. Typing in landscape suddenly seems easier (but I never use that, so they could be nothing new). It's hunting high and low for something new, but not finding anything. Even the memory levels seem the same...

AH! Here we go, on .402 my memory would leak slowly, nothing bad though. So far (like over the last 90 minutes if that!) memory has not gone down at all. It would have on .402

    That's something

8 platforms - good stuff, glad to see they're moving along - thanks for posting
now we need more 9530/9500 5.0 officials from different carriers - curious what they others approve

    are you familiar with BBSAK?
if so would you be willing to do a "Dump Phone" and upload the .cod files in a .zip or .rar archive?
if not, totally cool - I will wait for the installer lol

Man, I like to help as much as I can, but the "Dump Phone" bit made my butthole quiver. Don't have BBSAK and besides, probably not tech-saavy enough! Sorry

its easier than you think. install BBSAK from here: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

connect your 9500 via usb and run the program once its installed. it will ask if there is a password for ur device, if not just hit ok.
last tab on the bottom says misc. there is a button that says dump phone. it will take a bit of time as it copies all of the COD's from ur phone. once its does close the program and browse to c:\program files\bbsak and right click 'dump' and send to compressed zip folder. upload to megaupload or rapidshare or you can find another free host on the web. would be cool if you can, but if not a big deal

Funnily enough it was all loading onto my PC, but not in the Common Files\ Shared\Loader folder

All source files were loaded into Application Data\Research in Motion\Blackberry\Loader Cache...
    Uploaded a screenshot
