yup, works great for me. Infinitely better than the BBerry Maps app. Although, even if I did want to use th Bberry Maps app, I'm not sure how I would find it. It's really a pain to find (on both the 9000 and 9700 on AT&T). I often had to find some really odd way to get the app started. Anyone else feel the same way?
tried before. During my attempted install from m.google.com/maps I get the message, Unable to install on mobile device, use the web version.
I can't imagine it would make a difference, but here are the steps I use (only because I did not know there was any other way).
1. Go to maps.google.com from the BB browser
2. Click under the search box where it says "download Google Maps"
3. On the next screen click "Install now".
Best of luck
Edit - left my laptop and did not refresh the page, glad to see that you got it working
To all others who have the Bold 9700 with AT&T and have tried to download google maps - I was frustrated with everyone saying to just visit m.google.com/maps because it kept giving me the following message:
"Sorry, the Google Maps application does not work on your 9700. However, you can access Google Maps on the go by using the web version."
I tell ya - I was getting pretty ticked off that everyone was saying "it worked for me!" blah, blah, blah. Well I finally figured out how to get around it. It has to do with the settings of whatever browser you are using on your 9700. Browsers like Opera did not work to download it.
Here is what I did to finally get it to work:
Open the normal Blackberry Browser on your 9700
With the Browser screen open, click on the Blackberry button (the one to the left of the track mouse) and select "Options"
Select "Browser Configuration"
Under the first option "Browser" change it to "Internet Browser"
In the "Browser Identification" drop down box select option "Internet Explorer". (You will get a warning in red font but IGNORE it)
Go back to your browser screen and go to the following link: Google Maps or type in http: //m.google. com/maps?dc=gorganic (<--remove the spaces i put in first!)
You should now see the "Install Now" link to click on and install Google Maps
At last!
Good luck! Hope this helps. (I know that no other posts anywhere else seemed to get me there...pfft)
Im getting a message saying "Application Terminated: Google Maps has been denied the "Cross Application Communication" permission"
What do I need to do to get this to work
