Not bulky and nice fit - almost the same size as BB Curve. I think it feels a lot better since the BOLD was a bit too small. I can use my OEM silicone cover with it.

I don't like the flaps protecting the charging and ear ports. I rather have it exposed.

    Can't using OEM charging pod.

Seidio is coming out with a charging pod next week that will fit with their cases. It is available for order in their online store now.

I despise those things. They provide virtually no protection and they feel disgusting.

I'm pickin up the innocase II from mobilecity for these reasons.

    - $24 at mobile city
    - not bulky, i prefer light armor and handling the phone carefully
    - exposed top bottons
    - lets some silver on the phone show thru.
    - does not invade any key space.

I have heard that the Innocase II is prone to bezel scratches from repeated removal. I have an OEM charging pod and wanted an easily removeable case. I ordered both this case and the Seidio Snap case which is similar to the Case Mate Barely There case. I am hesitant to install since the whole idea is to prevent scratches and dings.

case-mate barely there imo is the best looking hard case out there, b/c it covers the least amount of the phone, and it slim-lines and integrates well with the curves of the bold 9700. BUT, b/c it looks so nice, it provides some of the least protection, your entire front side is vulnerable. still my case of choice though.

If you want/need real protection get a otterbox product if you want to pay too much for a sub par product buy a siedio case. Case mate also make some great products

BTW I have tried/used multiple products from all 3 companies

OtterBox Defender for Bold 9000- still use it
Casemate Smart Skin for Bold 9000- still use it, best protection from a silicone skin
Siedio Innocase 360 for Bold 9000-in trash bin, case broke, screen protector very easily scratched
Siedio Innocase 360 for Bold 9700- in use till OtterBox defender comes out for the 9700 or if it breaks be for then, screen protector also easily scratched

question regarding skins, cases, protection in general... i know the otterbox cases can withstand bomb blasts but what are the differences with the rest? i managed to buy a gel case, car charger and screen cover for 5...and the gel case looks and feels great!

I love the barely there but I didn't purchase for the reasons you stated.

I'm following this thread before making a choice. i already ordered a dock so I need an easy on/off case

innocase II: the best combination of style, protection and convenience for my money.

while people swear by otterbox for the protection it offers, it makes the 9700 look like an old nextel motorola phone in my opinion...

I like the Innocase II and the Snap.

I love the minimal footprint (at the expense of less protection) on the Snap...I also love the feel of it as well. The only thing that provides more protection than the Innocase II is the Otterbox and it is just way to bulky for my taste. I have had them in the past for beach days only. I have the Snap now, and may still get the Innocase II as well.
