I do want that bottom wing off but I prefer to keep the directional pad, I probably use it more than the physical keyboard itself.

I just wish the physical keyboard wasn't so flat. If the keyboard had more feedback I would probably open another line with Verizon and add it. I would really like an Android device with the nice screen of the Droid paired with a top notch physical keyboard.

maybe he just didn't update his profile yet?

me, i'd like it better if the slide out keyboard was like the one on the LG enV (VX9900), or LG Voyager Heck, even the Q9M's keyboard was nice.

This one is too flat, and I can't what keys my thumbs are over

I concur, I had an enV and the keyboard on that thing was amazing! The keys on the droid seem all smashed together and is hard to tell witch one ends and another begins.

I prefer the dpad...it is essential for any developer implementing joystick games for the phone....plus it slices through web links nicely...I am happy as is. Does anyone think the lip makes it even more star wars like? Lucas is the man.....

you do realize that if the phone was like this you would not get any cellular or wifi signal due to the metal case. thats why the phone has the bottom stick out like it does since thats the only place that is not encased in metal.

fuction over form in this case.

I actually like the Droid just the way it is. Serves its purpose for me as I normally use the on screen KB. But if I am logging into a website, it is nice to be able to pop open the KB and type away without losing any of the screen real estate. And it runs Android; it's got to have a chin. lol

If the keys aren't flat, the phone is thicker. Which would you rather have.

I like the way the Droid is.
