I want to fully protect it because its my first BB ever and I already am in love with it! Is a hard case or a silicon case going to protect it better and which kind and also what kind (if any) screen protector should I get?! Thanks for all the help!

The privacy protectors and hard snap on covers work good for me.

Invisible Shield, if it delivers what it promises, should keep it scratch-free.
There are also Seido Innocases, if you want heavy armor.

congrats and welcome aboard,once a BB always a BB. You can find a plethora of cases/covers at the CB store. Seido is the best.

I had a body glove on my 8330 and it was the first thing I bought for my 8530.
I'm disappointed the BG case doesn't have a screen protector built in like it did for the older model, but I got a privacy protector from Verizon for this phone.

The BG cases are solid. I dropped my old phone ALL THE TIME, brushed up against walls (I use the belt holster), it was a rock.

If you have long hair, do not get the silicone! It RIPS your hair out when you talk on it! lol
