Are you indoors or out or under something that might be interfering with the signal?

What are you all using as your GPS app, especially for driving? Any best FREE app for this?

Naw dude. Mine works mad fast. I have used GPS on tour and 8900 and those take for ever to lock on, even outtoors. Mine locates me in about 10 seconds, even indoors. This only goes for bb maps and google maps. Other 3rd party apps which want to use my location, like weather apps, poynt, etc takes a while.

Ya mine took so long the first time so i always closed it,

what worked for me was that i let it search on BB Maps for as long as it needed, and after a few minutes i connected to 8 satellites, be patient the first time, now google maps works as well as every other app.

so start gps location via bb maps first because that was what worked for me

I get perfect reception from my underground concrete bunker. You must have a defective model.
