    Hey everyone,

I'm using an 8900 right now, looking to upgrade to either the 9700 or 8520, on Rogers. What do you guys think, 9700 or 8520? Also, can I use the same cradle and car charger as the one I am currently using with my 8900?

    Thanks!

+1 for 9700 the only part that's an upgrade between the 8520 and the 8900 is the trackpad.

The 8520 is not really an upgrade for you coming from the 8900, IMO. So I guess that only leaves you with one choice for an upgrade.

It would be an upgrade as far as the track pad goes, but it would be a downgrade as far as the camera goes. The 8900 and the 9700 have 3.2 megapixel camera. The 8520 only has a 2.0 megapixel camera. The 9700 has 3G which the 8900 and 8520 do not.

Personally, IMO, an upgrade should be more than just the trackpad. Who cares about getting a trackpad if your giving up other things/features. Plus I feel the 9700 is a much better looking device. Put both of them side by side and you can clearly see which one is the better choice hands down.

if this will be your primary then i will definitely go with the 9700, maybe get the 8520 as a backup. I was thinking about doing that. But I just can't go back to EDGE. So get the 9700 for sure.

lol I can't believe you think an 8520 is an upgrade from 8900. This is how it goes 9700>8900>8520 there is a reason for model number assigning for each phone.
