I'm upgrading to a smartphone on AT&T. I'm choosing b/w the bold 9700 and iPhone. The devices are both $200 with a 2 yr contract. However, my school will charge $100 for 2 years of BES. I use my calendar and tasks a lot, so I need the ability to sync with my exchange server. The iPhone would sync for free. Does AT&T charge any additional monthly fees to use BES? I'd prefer the bold 9700 to the iphone, but not if it will cost much more $$$. (I stopped by my local AT&T store and they were CLUELESS).
In short, yes AT&T (as well as every other carrier I believe) charges more for BES vs. BIS. On AT&T it is $30/mo for BIS with unlimited data and $45/mo for BES with unlimited data. It is more money each year, but IMO well worth it.
