When will we ever get a facebook chat for the storm? Besides IM+ $30 is a little ridiculous imo. Tried to even download beejive and that wouldn't let me said it wasn't available for the storm until april??? I mean seriously the droid just came out they have meebo which has facebook chat! Berry's are so popular you think they would have something for us.

Have you tried Nimbuzz or Palringo? They are both free and support Facebook Chat.

Just FYI, palringro is a no go on 5.0. Nimbuzz is ok.. it gets the job done.

Beejive updated for Storms running 5.0 and 4.7. Look at the CB blogs for the links. It works great but its pricey

Needed feature? i have a hard time warranting that statement. Wanted, however, is a completely statement. We've lived this far without it, life will go on if we don't get it....

Nimbuzz has been working great for me. I haven't had any sign out problems. All my contacts get my chats and I get all their chats so it has definitely been stable for me. I'm lovin facebook chat right now

Anything I do IM/chat-wise, BeeJiveIM takes care of it nicely. Not free, but it's probably my one absolute MUST-HAVE app. (close second being Quick Launch)

I got this app today for the facebook chat. Does it only work when I'm signed in and 'online' on my pc? Everytime I shut my pc down my contacts all disappear or go offline

Nimbuzz and Beejive both do not seem to hold on to your contacts when you log out or exit. When your FB contacts log back into FB then they will show up again. I have been using Beejive Trial and it is a keeper for me the UI is great!
I have left Beejive running and my contacts have stayed there. I have no memory issues but it is a bit of a drain on the battery though.

Nimbuzz didn't work for me..

9530/5.0.0.428 and it just hung up on "signing in" for about 30 seconds and errored out...
