Two things come to mind.

First, that photo has been around for a coupel of years now.

Second, the new slider is supposed to be a vertical slider, like the Pre.

First, don't think the photo is _that_ old. I had trouble locating the exact patent. Obviously, RIM has tons of patents.

Second, the new news is that the device, whether the picture is accurate or not, is expected to be out sooner rather than later. The Kaufman Bros. analyst has a pretty good track record and claims to have contacts in RIM's supply chain.

I also read it would slide like the Pre but I suppose we'll have to wait for better information. Could be interesting.

The RIMM share buyback is also interesting and maybe relates to insiders believing in Mr. T.
