Is anyone finding that the more you use your trackpad the more it creaks?

Just got mine today. Within the first few hours of use I realized that my 'Back' button was squeaking like an old door when pressed. This only happens when I press the button close to the trackpad however. If I press more to the right of the button (closer to the 'End' key), then there is no squeak.

This is driving me nuts. I'm thinking about having it exchanged sometime in the near future

I got to say that RIM did an excellent job packaging and designing the 9700 and the only default I have found so far in the hardware is the creaky trackpad!

I guess so. This is one of the first trackpad devices released by RIM so there are bound to be some issues.

U know what I did, I changed my tpad sensitivity to 90 from 80, and now I don't have to move my thumb as much, I don't feel the creakiness and wobblyness as much. Try it and see if it works for u

I did that almost immediately after noticing the creaking. It definitely did improve because the touch response was much more fluid. I love the response of the trackpad at 90! Although, the creaking has started to slowly make its way into the 90 sensitivity. I only fear the trackpad will get worse; Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Well check this out.. my trackpad actually started creaking last night before I went to bed but now this morning the creaking sound is gone? I did in fact lower my settings from 70 to 50 and it's gone. Weird stuff I tell you!

My Curve 8520 track pad use to scroll down by it selves and it can go to several click downward randomly (very annoying when replying email and filling up login and sudden drop to password) . Its scroll more frequent when I increase the vertical sensitivity up to 100 (it happen also with even with 40 but less frequent). Most of the time happens if I frequently scroll upward, but sometimes its just scroll with out touching at all. I did try to wipe it well from dirt, but the problem still there.

I notice this problem tend to happen in a dark/ darker environment, and it seems fix in a brighter environment. I have a difficulties to prove my problem as the BB service center its well lighted.

I own 2 Curve 8520 model, the other device do not have this problem at all even in a very dark/ night light environment.

Did any one have this problem?. Any solution?

    Thanks
