If I use a curve or a bold case on the S2,...will this hurt the Storm in any way?

I am not sure if the magnet will work properly on the S2, but no it will not harm it at all. The S2 is also designed for a magnet case.

I am using my Curve case with magnet. Works Great! As soon as you put in case the screen locks and becomes unclickable like it should. Fits great too

I had the OEM blackberry magnet case for the 8330. - Not the one from verizon. I have used it with the Storm1 and now the Storm2. It is not tight in the case. I think it fits perfect.

I bought the case from verizon for the Storm and did not like it.

The Storm2 has proximity sensor just like the Curve, Bold, Tour, Storm1, etc. They are all the same. If you use a magnet case it will put your bb screen to "sleep".

The other day, I thought my Storm was whacking out. Every time I set it on my desk, it shut off. When I picked it up, it came back on. I thought, damn, this thing is brand new and already I've got a problem. It took me a minute or so to realize I was placing it on top of my BB holster and the magnet was shutting it off. DUH!!

So yes, the Storm2 works with a magnet case....even if you just lay it on the case.

I've been carrying mine in my old curve leather case. It doesn't shut down inside the case like my Curve did. I think the magnet for the S2 is more toward the middle.

I'm using my S2 in a third-party case that I was using for my Tour (before upgrading). The S2 goes into sleep mode as it should.

nah i dont think so. I had a tour holster for my S2 and it didnt work either. I went to verizon today and bought a holster specifically for the storm and it works great.

I'm using the BB Storm1 holster and it works fine with the S2. That was one of the first thing I checked out with any of my holster.

8800 case here, and device sleeps just fine. Not to mention holster sound profiles.
