I can get two BB's with the BOGO. I have two lines that are eligible. I only need one phone. I figure that i could sell the second one on eBay. Question is should i get an extra Tour or a Storm2? Which can i get more money for? How can i sell it as a new phone? Don't I have to activate it when it comes?

I have to bb's already. The only way I could BOGO was to add a third line to my plan. That's a minimum $40 a month so over a two year deal that line will cost almost $1k. So much for a free phone.

You do have to activate both new phones. If the "other" line already has a phone used on it, you can activate the new S2, then reactivate the old phone on the line. Then, you are free to do what you want with the "other" S2

I am not a VZW rep, so if there is one here, please feel free to correct/confirm what I said. I was told in store that if I took advantage of the S2 BOGO, I would have to activate both phones for the offer to be valid.

That is how I would assume it would work. I was tempted to do that. There were 4 lines on my plan that were eligible. I have seen the S2's go for between $600 and $1,000 on ebay new and unlocked. It cost like $30 to get it unlocked. maybe less. Or, if you are cheap, you use the phone for the 60 days required for VZW to unlock it for you, then say the phone is not working right, get a replacement, and then get it unlocked and sell it as new

I got the bogo deal went to the store and when I got home I Just put my other storm 2 in eBay and made 700$ I was happy about that

I'd be more then happy with $600-$700 for it. If i activate it do i have to take it out of the box. I will order it online.

You don't have to activate the second S2 on the line. Just tell them you want to upgrade but not to activate it. They will scan the ESN of a "dummy" phone. I did this with my Tour and now with the S2.

I sold my second one for $400. I had to add lines to get both of my S2's but after I cancel them in 30 days and paying the EFT's I walk away with $100. I'm ok with that.

Because Verizon is footing that bill on the phone, not you. These phones are subsidized very heavily. Verizon is banking on you buying the phone and keeping that data and voice plan on that phone for 2 years. This phone is $539.99 each out of contract. No contract no BOGO. Just the data plan is is 30 per month, at 24 months that is $720. You are paying $279 for the phone Verizon is paying the rest of the $260.99. That leave them a profit of $459.01 every 24 months. This is for the first line of service. No the second line of service that you had to commit to in order to get that free phone is a little different. That second line they are only making $180.01 every 24 months. If you take that that you didn't pay anything for and cancel that line after 30 days you have paid $30 for that months worth of service plus the $175 for a total of $205. Verizon is still in the hole -$334.99 on that line of service that they just lost so you could make $300-500 on a phone that you had no intention of keeping to begin with. So even with them raising the ETF to $350 if you only keep that line for one month they are still losing money, just not as much. (Keep in mind that these numbers are just for the data plans on a BIS rate as their goal is to add the data lines not the voice lines.)

I'd buy the bogo also. Been looking around the marketplace forum and can't get one. PM me anyone if you are looking to off your Storm2. Fair price not for more than retail though, why would anyone do that?
