I'll prolly get flamed for saying this, but i can tell you with certainty that some of those customers service techs will tell you anything if they can't solve the problem with you just to get you off the phone. not most of them i'm sure, but some of them. i don't know how many times i called in to Care and got a rep that told me that they couldn't do what i asked them to, when just the day before someone did the exact same thing. i won't hold my breath about an OS update already, but it would be great if that were true...
The rebooting issue was when ever the phone was bumped it rebooted. I tried everything, different battery, putting in paper to pad the battery and keep it in place.
I came to believe it was a defective unit. I think there might have been a soldering or wiring issue. I got a new one last night from VZW. Made in Hungary too, just like the other one. I can drop it as many times as like on my desk, i can bump it, knock the counter with it, drop it into the cup holder in my Jeep, and it wont reboot. All that would cause my first S2 to reboot.
have you tried moving the battery cover a little (as it would after a while of using the phone) and then test bumping the phone to see if it reboots?
this is what happens to mine and I'm heading into verizon today to get it exchanged.
For some reason, this might be even a software issue maybe? Mine rebooted twice, but ive fiddled around with it and tried to bump it around and get it to reboot and it won't....i guess ill have to experiment a little more haha
