All i can say is wow. I went to walmart in Orland Hills IL and was able to get my droid, i had one pre-order at BB, but after reading reports that Walmart was selling them, i was like what the heck let me give it a try. The best part is the phone was only 188.00 plus tax....
I'm sure its already in Verizon's system to prepare for midnight sales (both select stores, and online) as well as early morning rushes. Bad idea to push it early in the morning and hope it goes.
To be dead honest it is one of the best phones i've had. the camera on my actually works great, it was the first thing i checked before i left the store

My local Bestbuy is only selling phones to new and upgrading customers TONIGHT but I've been into the Verizon store twice this week, told them what I wanted to do and they never said I couldn't buy the phone retail Friday morning. In fact they told me just the opposite.
Checked the forum on the Verizon Wireless site and don't see anything about no sales to those buying at retail either.
They also told me retail price at the Verizon store would be $569.00.
