Not noticeable except at night when it's backlighted. I've taken a black sharpie to it but that rubs off. I could put a dab of clear nail polish on top of it but am wondering if there are other creative ideas out there??

I don't want to remove it. The black paint on it is coming off. The light coming through it bugs me.

That small of a dot bugs you? I hate to see what happens when you drop the phone...
nail polish will probably eat the paint off of the rest of the button. but you could take a sharpie, let it dry then put a VERY small amount of polish over it, i.e. to clear coat it.

I know. I often read at night in bed with the lights out. That dot shines brighter than the rest. Insomnia makes me cranky

Sounds like you might do a lot of texting for that nib to wear down. I'm surprised you don't have tendinitis in your thumbs. Lol

You're phone is under warranty. If a key or keys paint finish is rubbing off your allowed to get a replacement phone

4 of mine have done this, the paint rubs off the raised part of M as well. Only reason it hasnt done it with the 5th one is because I got it yesterday...im sure it will..yet another thing RIM is dropping the ball on.

My treo's did it all the time....I would put it face down at times and rubbed off.....he could do that if the light bothers him..
To bring it back for normal wear and tear is a bit much.

I actually just noticed this on my tour as well. I've havent had this one for very long but it is already wearing off. Not a big enough deal to bug me, but what does that mean for the rest of the keys in another 4 or 5 months. Do the curve buttons have a tendency to wear off within a year?

Mine is off of my curve 8330 I got in April....nothing else is wearing off and I had this on the beach, etc....
    I wouldn't worry.
    Edit: Esposito....NICE!

My Tour has not done it yet, but the Curve had the same issue. The little dot lost it's paint. I really don't care about it, personally.

Mine just did it too. Used a small amount of Wite Out first then a permanent black Sharpie. Seems to be working, so far.

Reading on a blackberry in the dark can't be good for your eyes.

And this is wear-and-tear, just take a sharpie or something.

I read on here that to clear your trackball, put the phone upside down on a clean piece of paper and move it around. That's what did it to me. Sharpee didn't work and now I think I'm stuck with this dot there. Not too bad I guess, but it's annoying.

why don't you pop the key off and apply the sharpie to the BACK of the key, where it won't wear off?

Is it worth paying $20+shipping which then requires to take the phone apart to change the keyboard which will void the warranty ... for a little thing like that?

of course not, but it's nice to know there are parts available in the event of a real problem
