Got mine back. Went to the blackberry.com site, and had the link sent to my mine and downloaded. It went fine.
Also, if you signed up for contact recovery, you can get your contacts back.
Those apps have slightly different versions for 5.0 OS..the automatic APP restore doesn't restore them because they are not compatible since they are RIM Apps I think...My wife's storm was missing BBM and facebook.
You have to redownload them...
Also if you happen to download Google Maps OTA it is notorious for giving you the wrong version..it's gives you a track ball version instead of touchscreen....You need to restore your version from your backup or find the link to somone who is hsoting the propre version.
i downloaded and installed the bbm again and it still didnt show up on my screen or any application folder..what can i do to get it back?? its killin me not havin that on my phone lol
^^^ Me too... is it affecting your phone any? I haven't noticed anything yet. It's just annoying to have to see them when I start the phone up.
I haven't noticed it affecting my phone. I uninstalled all 3-party applications that I had installed before the upgrade and I am still receiving these damn errors on reboot. I am really not in the mood to wipe and reload from scratch.
** And I am of course missing BBM after upgrading.
I had the same problem with BBM. I went to AppWorld and reinstalled it but still couldn't find it. I had to go to blackberry.com on my BB and download it there and it works now... I just deleted 5 3rd party apps and it's rebooting now, maybe that will fix the errors...
If you cant see your BBM icon just reinstall it. www.blackberry.com/messenger.
If you don't have the browser icon just register your handset: options/advance options/host routing table highlight the first line and then the BB button and register now.

I had the same problems. I followed all of the steps above but still no luck. What finally worked for me was moving the "archive" bbm icon to the original location where I had it prior to the upgrade and it work perfect. It worked for my phone and my wife's too.
