Are there any downloads for 5.0 OS for the 8520 that are FREE and actually working? I keep finding the RapidShare link and they want me to pay for an account and no other links seem to be working.

I used the RapidShare link myself, and it just took a little while - you're not required to make an account.
It also works fine aside from some little bugs that are a part of the Beta and have nothing to do with the link itself.
    Hope that helped!

Some of the older ones for the 8900 seemed to work for the 8520.

.314 is pretty sweet, but after a few random reboots I switched back to .238.

Anybody running that leaked 5.0.0.238 on their 8520? Any issues? I'm not that impatient - I can wait. Just curious - especially given the amount of complaining (or whining) over the new official Storm OS release last night.

BajanBastard - disregard. lol different forum - your pic looked familiar.

Im running the leaked version and I must say for me it seems hella smooth... Feels smooth and quicker to me. My theme is the snow leopard theme and it works great. I have had no probs whats so ever so far. The only thing that freaked me at first was that I had no BB messenger but when I text my wife on her 8330 it came out to be chat so I left it at that. I must say I really like it.

So no bugs? I know there's the 5.0 BBM, which I already have. Does it suuport JiveTalk (BeeJive) - the most recent 1.9.6 beta? Anyone know? That's really the app I use the most...

BeeJive needs to hurry up with that next version - that's an app I can't be without, regardless of phone/OS. I have the Leopard and Wood Works theme, so the caller screen issues wouldn't affect me. Just waiting on a 5.0 compatible version...

Also, the directions for 'upgrading' to the new leaked versions seem a bit convolluted. Here's hoping T-Mobile one day makes use of that 'Wireless Update' feature soon.

I have been running 5.0.0.238 for two weeks and the only thing that annoyed me besides the ugly call screen was no voice dialing, but after using the vad cods from the curve 8900 that thing got fixed... Love the threaded messages and there is no way that I could think about downgrading

    Not calling you stupid...

Anyway, I just tried the link to verify - it pulled up on mine - ready to download. You can get it through rapidshare as well - same file though. Not sure why it's not working for you.
