I am about to pre-order my 9700 and am just wondering if there is any difference in the models in regards to the 3g working in Canada.

I have a T-mobile branded 8520 right now, so i have no way to know.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you pre-ordering your 9700 from Rogers?

no, mobilecity, hence why i need to know if one of the models (T-mobile or ATT) will be incompatible with my 3G network

Not sure what Rogers uses for a frequency, but the T-Mobile version will use the 1700mhz down link and 2100mhz up link. The 1700 mhz is an uncommon freq for 3G and may not be compatible with what Roger's provides. I would suggest going with the AT&T version as it'll for sure use the 850/1900.

You need AT&T for the 3G.

Stick with ATT, since they're connected!

I purchased a Roger Bold1 the day they were released and it gets better 3G reception on my AT&T netwrok than the two AT&T Bold1 in our company. I would not be scared of the Rogers unit being used on AT&T, if fact I will be looking for a Rogers Bold2 again.
