    Hi guys,

I'm doing a project in which I have to choose an every day object that I interact with and study its physical design/features, its environment, and what it represents in society (by examining similar objects), and document everything photographically.

I, naturally, chose my Blackberry! (Though most likely 80% of people will choose a cell phone or ipod, or some other type of electronic device, I couldn't think of anything else I was interested in studying so in depth...)

I'm having some trouble with the last part - what it represents in society.

So, what I want to know is: What does your Blackberry do for you that you couldn't do previously? How does it make your life easier, or harder? What do you gain or lose by having a Blackberry?

    I'm looking for some inspiration!

    Sheena

A portible connection to information, entertainment and communication. I have 700 songs, 300 pdf formatted books and whitepapers, including the Holy Bible, Quran and Bhagavad Gita not to mention Shakespear and Longfellow, installed on my sd card. And where would any self-resecting biker be without Steppenwolf

Life love and happiness. Everyone I know love and care about is my phone in some way shape or form. My music videos and pictures are in my phone. My internet connection to the cyber-world comes from my phone. True story.

I think it represents my personality. I chose the rubber silicone case pink because I am very colorful and creative, I like to be bold like the themes I have, and I keep everything I love on it. Pictures of my family and friends, snapshots of cool sights around the city, and notes of dates i have gone on and new people and fashion shows and concerts. Also tasks and calendar events. So i love it and if I did not have it, I would be lost! LOL. It really does keep me organized too!

Well let's see. This is my first smart phone. For me its about simplicity. No longer do I have to carry an mp3 player a digital camera, and a laptop at all times. I have everything in the palm of my hand. My work and personal life have been streamlined by this device. I get emails almost instantly and have the necessary resources to make desicions asap! I hope you project goes well and that this was a help.

I gain a lot of productivity by sheer organization and ability to deal with certain matters when I am away from the office.
The ability to communicate with others is amazing. I can text/email/media msg someone locally (in Canada) or in the US and get equally as quick interaction. Sure, you can do this with a desk phone or laptop... But not as casually or on the go.

Nothing but a big headache after the latest Verizon OS release- I can no longer use a media card without locking up the phone and requiring a battery pull.

For me, it has combined 5 devices into one. Instead of carrying a cell phone, an ipod, a digital camera, an alarm clock, and a palm PDA, I now just carry my BB. I can now access my email anywhere, take pictures whenever I want, and keep track of my work schedule with one device. It is so convenient for me. It also gives me something to entertain me at work. this is my first smartphone, and after experiencing the awesomeness of it, I don't think I will ever carry a non-smart[hone again.
