I want to upgrade to the newest version of 5.0, but I cannot get desktop manager to recognize my phone via USB. I am using Windows Vista, and Vista recognizes that I have a 9530 plugged in via USB, so my computer does recognize the phone. However, when I go into desktop manager it says I do not have any connected devices. I have the most up to date version of desktop manager, and I have used other people's computers to upgrade in the past with no problem.
just tried bbsak and it doesn't recognize the device either. It has to be something on my computer, as I have done it on another computer before with the same phone and USB cable
I don't have any other OS's downloaded on my computer...I just tried going through program files and using apploader directly, and that did not work either

Delete that vendor file first and try again. If it doesn't work right click on the loader and choose run as administrator.
I'm having the same problem. Wiped the phone with BBSAK and now AppLoader can't find the new OS. At a loss as to why it can't find the new OS when it's on the PC.

I deleted the vendor.xml file. Would the OS be in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion folder? I know the loader files for the new 5.0 OS is there. That's pretty much all I have right now.
Yes...my computer still recognizes the device and lists the 9530 as plugged in the usb under my computer. However desktop manager shows none under devices connected
