I've been running the hybrid .160/.131 for a while now. I can't say enough good things about it. Been running 42mb file free. You can find it here: http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/hyb...0-131-a-242109

I'm a newbie and a little confused by the OS upgrades. My OS is 4.5.0.77. Desktop manager says I can upgrade to a new OS but I think it's 4.5.0.138. Wouldn't that be a downgrade?? My carrier is Verizon - is the .77 just their version of the OS?
    Thanks!

For 4.5.138, i heard there were a lot of signal bouncing. so i wouldn't recommend upgrading to 4.5.138

Nah, .138 is an upgrade over .77

Technically, .77 should be called .077 but where's the fun in that? The latest official vzw OS can be found here: BlackBerry® Software Updates but i believe it's .138. I just got a replacement from them, and that's the OS it was running.

Thanks cae2685, and I see you've already got .175 on your replacement. Is that a better OS?

I'm not, actually. I've had a string of bad phones (On my 4th one in a week. yuck.)
I had .175 on my last phone for about 12 hours before the broken keyboard led me to get a replacement. My current phone is rocking good ol' .138.

From what I've read, memory leak seems to be a problem with .175. I'm not quite sure what that is, but it sounds bad and i don't want it

the 5.0.0.230 hybrid with the 8520 patch or whatever has been running great. It adds so much and its very stable. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and I am very happy with it and it fixed all the issues I had with one of the earlier 5.0 leaks. I would recommend using it.

memory leak is your file memory going from 35mb to 30mb as anexample over a period of hours, which will slow down your phone.

The sub-OS numbers are sequential numerically. beyond the final decimal.
Wireless updated to .175 today, so far has been sweet. It's more a tweak than a major change, but it helps to not chase the post box anymore.

And it's even better when used as a hybrid. The browser becomes faster because the browser isn't a 4.5 app anymore.

It's interesting, I've dealt with Chase the Box so long that it is a little freaky when it doesn't move.
